What is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that focuses on core stability, alignment and strength. It teaches you to approach your movement with conscious control and re-programme your movement patterns to prevent straining and overloading.

It was originally developed by Joseph Pilates to rehabilitate injured soldiers in WW1 and was later used to strengthen and condition dancers. Now, Pilates is widely popular and available to help anyone reach their goals, whether that's reaching their optimal performance in a sport or rehabilitating from an injury. Pilates is for everyone.
